PANIC OR PAN-DEM-IC

PANIC OR PANDEMIC,

Watching the TV earlier there was talk about the swine flu and that the CDC said it was not a pandemic at this time. Well, last I heard it was in 29 states and there were over 100 confirmed cases but, there is no need for alarm. No need for alarm? How many cases do they have to have before there is need for alarm? It is already in over half of the states. I think that is plenty of cause for alarm. I myself would rather opt on the side of preventing it before it gets any further so, I am going to give some of my thoughts as to what could be done to help alleviate the problem. I like to use adages and cliches so I will. "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." Also, "You can't start any younger."

They talk about how you should cough into your elbow instead of into your hand. Well, if you cough into your elbow you are still spreading your breath around so why not cough into an antiseptic wipe or even through it. In Mexico they are saying that they are running out of surgical masks and people are using regular dust masks in their stead. Why not use an antiseptic wipe to tie over your mouth and nose. No, I don't know it you can safely breathe through them but, I also don't know that that would be detrimental to your health. But, any virus which got caught in the wipe should be killed and the thing is we need to kill the bug. It is at least something to think about. They might even check on whether or not they could spray those masks with antiseptic.

I think that wipes should be given to all who go into confined spaces such as airplanes and buses. They should also have sprays on hand so if anyone does cough they can then spray the area and possibly kill the bacteria which is in the air whether or not the person has any signs of having any illness.

Places of business should take the time to spray or wipe the handles on doors and carts often during the time they are open as a preventive measure. After all, it would be to their advantage to protect their customers.

It might be just as wise to carry wipes with you all the time and use them frequently and use them on your hands, also.

So much for this post. There are many more thoughts which I have which could help elleviate the problem.
